The next Saturday, 9 July 2011, will be held, in the waters of the marine reserve of the island of Tabarca, the regional championship of Apnea photography. The Championship is organised by the Federation of underwater activities in the Valencian Community (F.A.S.C.V.), with the support of the section's Activities Underwater of the University of Alicante (A.S.U.A.) and Grup Esportiu d'Activities Subaquàtiques (G.E.A.S. Valencia), and counts for the Spain Championships to be held in Mataró (Barcelona) from 8 to 10 September.
The regional championship of the Valencian Community, will also serve as activity to highlight the fact that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the marine reserve of the island of Tabarca, which was also the first in Spain. For this reason, apart from the competition, the Federation has scheduled a series of events of informative character, to be held on July 9 in Tabarca, and targeting the public in general that day to visit the island.
Among the activities planned will have two lectures on photography and underwater video, a small photo exhibition of the seabed of the marine reserve of Tabarca, as well as other marine protected areas in the Mediterranean. Finally there will be a Conference at the hands of the scientific coordinator of the marine reserve of the island of Tabarca, who will speak about the importance of this marine reserve, the wealth of its seabed and biodiversity on which it counts.
