    Monthly physical activities (coach-led activities)

    Sports schools (aimed at children and young people)

    There is no registration deadline. Therefore, you can sign up as long as there are places available.

    CADU: 5th matchday - UA vs UCV (27/02/2020)

    The following games will be held at the UA:
    Men's VOLLEYBALL, 11 a.m. - Women's VOLLEYBALL, 1 p.m.

    The PADDLE team will play at the Sanvi Paddle Centre (San Vicente del Raspeig, 11 a.m.), and the TENNIS team at the Alacant Tennis Club (11 a.m.).

    The women's HANDBALL game, 12 noon, and men's HANDBALL game, 2 p.m., will take place at the Sant Joan municipal sports centre.

    The men's and women's BASKETBALL, FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL and FOOTBALL teams will play in Torrent, València.

    University of Alicante reaffirms commitment to eliminating homophobia in sport

    Today, the University of Alicante has hosted an event to support the elimination of homophobia in sport. During the event, a document was read and sealed whereby our institution joined the La Liga Arcoíris initiative and UA team members posed wearing captain armbands with the colours of the rainbow.

    Funding for cultural, language and sports activities during 2020 - Call for applications

    The Office of the Vice President for Culture, Sports and Languages, in an effort to support activities that contribute to the university community's comprehensive education, launches a call for applications. The goal of this call, aimed at non-UA companies, is to help fund activities held during 2020 that promote culture, sports and languages.

    University of Alicante sports teams get new name and corporate image

    Starting this week, all teams within the University of Alicante's Federated Sports Section have a new name and logo/crest. Launched by the Office of the Vice President for Culture, Sport and Languages, this initiative establishes a single official name, which from now on will be “Universitat d’Alacant” for all teams.

    In the 2019/2020 academic year, the University of Alicante organises the rowing, chess, table tennis, 3 x 3 basketball and triathlon competitions as part of the Regional University Sports Championship.

    4 March:

    10 a.m. - Chess (Awards ceremony at 7 p.m.)

    10 a.m. - 3x3 basketball (Awards ceremony at 3 p.m.)

    10.30 a.m. - Table tennis (Awards ceremony at 2.30 p.m.)

    UA taekwondo coach Juan Miguel Gómez wins the Federation's National Prize for Best Poomsae Coach

    Juan Miguel Gómez, coach of the University of Alicante taekwondo teams for seven seasons, has led many of our taekwondo practitioners to success, including María José Alfocea (runner-up in Spain's club championship), Antonio Aparicio (twice national para-taekwondo champion) or José Tomás (silver medal in the U21 regional championship).

    The following games will be held at the UA:

    Men's FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL, 1 p.m., and women's FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL, 3 p.m.

    The women's FOOTBALL (11 a.m.) and men's FOOTBALL (1.45 p.m.) will take place on the San Vicente municipal pitch.

    The women's BASKETBALL (12 noon) and men's BASKETBALL (2 p.m.) teams will play at the San Vicente municipal sports centre.

    The following matches will be played in Elche: women's and men's HANDBALL, women's and men's VOLLEYBALL, PADDLE and TENNIS.

  • UA Volunteering

    Physical exercise programme for people with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease-Volunteer training course

    In the framework of the UA & YOU Volunteering Programme and the Sports and Inclusiveness Volunteering Programme, a physical exercise programme will be run for people with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. The activity includes a specific training course for volunteers.

    Period: 10 to 26 March

    Days and times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

    You will find the pre-registration form at the following link, available from 28 January to 28 February 2020

    Final registration period: 2 to 10 March. Those pre-registered will be informed.
